How Wonderfills Came to Life: Embracing Chocolate as a Teacher

A Serendipitous Discovery in the Kitchen

In the summer of 2022, I indulged in one of my favorite pastimes – experimenting in the kitchen. As I flipped through one of my beloved Ayurvedic cookbooks, I stumbled upon a recipe for Chai Truffles. After trying it out, I was hooked. The truffles became my go-to dish for potlucks, and people couldn't help but suggest I sell them. However, I thought keeping them as a special treat to share with friends would be best.




A Chance Encounter with a Chocolate Angel

I often visited my friend Belén's coffee bar, Just Bee, nearly daily. Belén is an incredibly conscious business professional, and I admire the work she's done and the atmosphere she's created. Casually, I mentioned to her that I had been working on perfecting the Chai Truffle recipe. To my surprise, my soon-to-be Chocolate Angel entered the Coffee Bar.


The Chocolate Angel and I bonded over a Chipotle Chocolate bar we both loved, which was unfortunately discontinued from the local market. She mentioned that she found some at another store and promised to bring me a bar later at the market where I worked. As we continued talking, she shared her experience as a Chocolatier, piquing my interest.


A Generous Gift and a New Path

Later, at my shift at The Eureka Market, I found a bag waiting for me – containing not just the Chipotle Chocolate bar but also 6 pounds of the chocolate the Angel used to create confections at her former chocolate shop. Additionally, a book titled "Chocolates and Confections: Form, Techniques, and Processes." I was stunned by this generous gift and realized that the universe was sending me a message. I decided to say yes to the universe and see where this journey would lead.


The Birth of Wonderfills: Perfecting Plant-Based Adaptogenic Chocolate Truffles

With these newfound resources, I dove deeper into the world of chocolate, working tirelessly to create the world's best plant-based Adaptogenic Chocolate Truffle. I focused on the Chai flavor, making my blend and adding adaptogens. Friends were more than happy to sample my creations, and the idea of entering the chocolate business became more enticing.

Embracing Chocolate as a Teacher

I must admit, I never saw this coming. My background was in theatre, and I had been working towards becoming a full-time life coach. While I enjoyed eating chocolate, I wasn't passionate about it. However, I soon realized that chocolate wasn't just a tasty treat – it was my teacher. Chocolate became my guru, shining light into my dark spaces and giving me the momentum to share my gifts of kindness, love, and creativity with the world.


Saying Yes to the Universe and Embracing Personal Growth

So, I decided to say yes to the universe and see where the journey takes me.

The experience of creating Wonderfills taught me the importance of embracing qualities such as quality, innovation, accessibility, well-being, and personal growth. By following my intuition and listening to the universe, I discovered a new path that aligned with my values and allowed me to share my love for chocolate with others.
